Zuriel Delivers Film Making Class with Omnicane in Mauritius
In partnership with one of Africa's largest Ethanol producers from Sugarcane - Omnicane, with presence in Mauritius, Rwanda and Kenya, Zuriel has continued her series of film making classes for underprivileged and underserved communities across Africa.
Having already delivered the program in Namibia and Nigeria in March and June this year, she turned her attention to Mauritius, by accepting an invitation from Omnicane.
Zuriel delivered the program across Mauritius villages as the management of the company believed her story and journey would inspire the local communities. A major partnership attraction for her Zuriel was also because of the renewable energy focus of Omincane, and their efforts in reducing the effects of 'climate change' - a subject Zuriel spoke on at the UN last September during the 71st UNGA in New York, with world leaders.
In the villages, she taught film making, spoke to the children about the importance of education, played a soccer game with the boys team, and showed the mothers what their daughters can do, if they are educated like her.
